JRE #298 - Dennis McKenna, Brian Redban

xXHardisonXx

Terence McKenna is eagerly awaiting on the other side of the "breakthrough", ready to show you the indescribable. “You are a divine being. You matter, you count. You come from realms of unimaginable power and light, and you will return to those realms.” - Terence Mckenna

I'm so glad Dennis pronounces "bodies" in the same beautifully weird way that his brother did.

Dennis McKenna ought to keep doing things like this, and keep writing books for fuck's sake.

I did acid on my 18th birthday nd it changed my life. I was an angry person addicted to conflict, pain, nd self destruction. I bettered my life for a few years untill I got hooked on opiates which caused me to relapse into my old ways nd completely destroyed me. Then someone tricked me into smoking DMT saying it was a form of hash I don't remember to much of the trip but I came out with no mental addiction and a strong enough will to suffer the withdraws. Now I'm clean & happy again. Thanks DMT!

Definitely one of the best JRE podcasts. This episode is like a psychedelic experience in itself.

Terence McKenna's Food of the Gods is the single most important thing I've ever read.

Damn, Dennis is just about as interesting to listen to as Terence. Actually scratch that, he is just as interesting, just in a slightly different way.

One of the best talks I've heard in a long time! So glad there still is a McKenna around carrying the torch!

I love hearing Dennis' account of the events at La Chorrera in 1971 with brother Terence. It's corroboration for personal experience on my initial mushroom experience, on April 10, 1976.
Two of my friends sat motionless, across from me on a couch in my dorm, and their eyes blazed at me. Their mouths did not move, but a voice told me that they had temporarily lent their bodies to the mushroom to share eternal secrets with me.
The next few hours a terrifying and transcendent vision downloaded into me: All action is simultaneous, everything happens at once, we have many lives separated by focus, each tuned to specific time-space coordinates for the express purpose of organizing "physical reality" (which is only one of many systems). Etc. and so on...
I've spent the ensuing decades drawing comix/graphic novels trying to sort it out!

In regards to psilocybin , Terence also said :
"The mushroom uses 20/25 % of its energy to produce psilocybin, and it never uses it ...so what is it for ? "
"The mushroom doesnt need its 'form' , it can survive underground through Mycelium networks"
