Well thought out and reasoned. After watching, I subscribed, watched all of your previous videos, & clicked "like" on all of them. I believe you will grow this channel with thousands of subscribers.

The Crystal Crystals

I believe a Great Oxygenation Event happened on Mars, explaining the dead microbes and Mars' regolith's high Fe2O3 content. In Mars' primordial state, its crust may have contained large quantities of iron ores/oxides, as well as deposits of carbon either in free form or in the form of mixtures within rocks/compounds. As microbes similar to Cyanobacteria created waste oxygen, anaerobic bacteria died and iron across the Martian crust bonded with the free oxygen, forming rust. Meanwhile, carbon atoms within oxygen atoms/other compounds bonded with the same source of oxygen, forming Mars' CO2 blanket. Perhaps Mars' low gravity contributed to a lack of atmosphere, and the production of CO2 might have destroyed any ozone or lowered the concentration by causing parts of the Martian atmosphere to be released into space as it thickened due to a gravitational capacity for holding gases near the center of said force. CO2 slowly replaced ozone, and ultraviolet radiation killed off the Cyanobacteria equivalent(s), most likely before Mars' plate tectonics ceased early on due to a low planetary mass/size, rather than a few billion years later on in its development as a world because of a larger mass/size, causing its magnetosphere to dissipate, as solar wind excited/picked away at atmospheric particles, leaving a thin blanket still attached to Mars by its meek, but sufficient gravitational field.

Thanks so much for the update. I was quite familiar with ALH 84001 as Dr. David McKay had given a lecture on the meteorite at the university I attended at the time. I was unaware of this second posited life sign meteorite from Egypt. Thanks for what you do. I appreciate your presentation style and interesting content.

It's just a hard sell to say the meteorite came from Mars.

Great content. Concise and to the point. This channel is right at the very top of good quality science channels. Brilliant work Mr. John. Keep them coming.

the theme of The Thing would have been great as the music for this video, just played real soft.

President Bill Clinton later had to retract his previous statement "I did not have sexual relations with that meteorite" ...after pictures surfaced of him taking the rock to Martha's Vinyard in a blue dress. It did explain the contamination of microbial life on the meteorite' s dress, but not the supposed fossils within.

Remember this. I was on holiday in Turkey at the time and it was talked about. I recall a few drinks were raised to our potential star neighbours, well more than a few. Which proved even if there is or isn't life on mars there sure was on earth, it was a good night. Liked the video, informative and interesting.
