EU election candidate for Dublin, Ben Gilroy released a campaign video which wen viral yesterday. The video shows Gilroy using a hurley stick to batter multiple drywall panels spray-painted with words like 'State Corruption', 'Constitutional Violations', 'unlawful evictions' and 'RTÉ'. The video was shared widely on social media. Joe.ie did a remix of the video with a well known viral clip of a man slipping on ice as shown on RTÉ news a few winters ago.
The Irish Independent claims the video got 300k views overnight.
Gilroy is an anti-eviction activist who featured in this video warning people that the use of Loyalists from Northern Ireland as bailiffs to evict Irish tenants would lead to violence.
