Man... Dan Harmon's critics... like sucking him off but occasionally using teeth.

"Let's read the comments!" said the voice of self destruction.

I think Justin Roiland's Rick voice is literally just a drunk Dan Harmon impression.

This is a great 17 minute confirmation that my early decision to completely ignore twitter was the correct move.

That article for me reads: starved for work writer.

It's the ignorance of fans, and people in general; "Oh, I love your work. You're brilliant and creative. It'd just be better if it came from a happier, lighter, more friendly place."

It's this whole notion that creators are the property of the consumer. Like, because we have the hypothetical power to concentrate our viewership and end a person's creation, that gives us the authority to dictate how it should be. What it should look like. How it should be delivered.

Dan Harmon's a human being that's been shaped over the course of a lifetime to think, feel, and react in certain ways. So the same place those Tweets come from, "Rick & Morty" comes from. You just can't have it both ways. If you want the art, you have to respect the artist. That doesn't mean excusing everything they do, but show them respect. It isn't that difficult.

The truth is Dan really did write that long comment.

you are a worthless yet necessary byproduct of an evolutionary strategy summarizable as "No wrong answers"
That's gold.

I have a head cannon that Dan secretly hates himself, that he got so drunk and wrote the entire article and comments.

“I am Sarah Silverman’s complete lack of surprise” was brilliant, and Dan knows it - hence the fleeting yet pregnant pause.
