Protesters on Wednesday gathered outside of Fox News personality Tucker Carlson's house in Washington, with at least one member of their group walking up onto the front porch and ringing the doorbell.
"Tucker Carlson, we are outside your home to protest ... fascism and racism," one demonstrator can be heard saying in a video of the protest shared online. "You promote hate."
The recording also captures the crowd breaking out into a chant: “Tucker Carlson, we will fight! We know where you sleep at night!”
Smash Racism DC, the organization that mobilized the demonstration, accused Carlson on social media Wednesday of fear-mongering. The same group confronted Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and his wife Heidi at a Washington restaurant over the senator's involvement in Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh's controversial confirmation hearings.
"Every night you spread fear into our homes — fear of the other, fear of us, and fear of them. Each night you remind us we are not safe," they wrote. "Tonight you are reminded that the people have a voice. Tonight, we remind you that you are not safe either.
The Daily Caller, which Carlson co-founded, reported that the cable news host was at the network's Washington studios during the protest. The outlet also reported that Smash Racism DC had posted Carlson's address online before Twitter removed the post following inquiries from the Caller.
Carlson complained in October that he has had to limit his outings for meals in case protesters harass him.
"I can't really go to a lot of restaurants anymore because I get yelled at," he said on a National Review podcast. "I don't feel threatened, but having someone scream, 'Fuck you!' at a restaurant, it just wrecks your meal."
